Kyrios is an itinerary of faith that Regnum Christi offers to the laity of the youth section of Madrid-Ronda, and is open to any boy or girl in search of God. This activity, which began in 2019, has four one-year “seasons” and, in turn, each “season” in “episodes”. On the other hand, Kyrios is the name of the series, but above all it is the specific name of the first season: “The order is not accidental, nor the names. When we were thinking about the whole thing, we had two main points of reference: the Gospel and the charism of Regnum Christi, which we saw expressed in the Bylaws”Nicolás Núñez, LC, director of the youth section of Madrid-Ronda «and always thinking of a lay and young spirituality».
Conversion, discipleship and mission
Pablo Sada, one of the young people who has promoted and organized this activity from the beginning, explained that there are three fundamental pillars: “On the one hand, conversion, which is the encounter with Christ from a renewed gaze and welcome. On the other hand, discipleship, which is to know and deepen the relationship with the God you have met. Finally, mission, where God invites you to give your life and has a task for you: to help the young person to discover it and to set out”.
“It is a journey through the Gospel and seeks to be an existence and to go down to the deepest roots, and it is from young people to young people,” explained Patti Maxwell, another of the lay people who has promoted this apostolate. She also explained that the objective of the itinerary is not to give talks, but rather for Kyrios to become a journey that leads the person to a real change. “In reality, this change is what must happen when you encounter Jesus. That encounter touches your heart and resizes your whole life.”.
Removing one of the schemes
The young people recognize that Kyrios can help them understand the truth of the Gospel. “This itinerary will help them because it is the truth. We don't try to disguise the truth, sell it or give half-truths. From minute one we tell them this is the truth that we believe in and we offer it to them as it is,” Patti explained. She also recognized that nowadays they offer half-truths, but Kyrios takes one out of the schemes and helps “to go deeper and stop living on the surface”. “Kyrios is something that helps you to make a very human journey and leads you to meet the Jesus of the Gospel”.
