Who are the lay people who will attend the General Plenary of Regnum Christi?

As announced on May 4, 2009, in the final communiqué of the General Convention of Regnum Christi, the 36 lay delegates attending the General Convention elected the six lay people who will attend the General Plenary of Regnum Christi during the next six-year period. Those elected are: Cathie Zentner, Horacio Gomez, Cristina Regueira, Guillermo Narro, Maria Fioretta Bini Smaghi and David Zarate.

The The General Plenary is an organ of assistance to the General Directing College and its function is to offer its consent or opinion when requested by the Directing College, thus assisting in the exercise of its authority. Its collaboration expresses the spirit of communion that characterizes Regnum Christi (EFRC 90 and 91). It is made up of all the general councilors of the Legionaries of Christ, the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi and the Lay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi. Six lay people participate with consultative vote (EFRC 89).

Horacio Gómez - North American Territory.

From Guadalajara, Mexico. He became associated with Regnum Christi in 1996 and offered a year of service as a Regnum Christi collaborator in Madrid, Spain. He is married to Luisa and has four young children. He helped found the first ECYD clubs in Guadalajara. He has been team leader, section director and local director of Regnum Christi in Dallas (USA). He is currently part of the plenary council of the North American territory, supporting initiatives such as Guidance for discernment and the creation of the evangelization plan in the localities. During the last 10 years, he has been in charge of different apostolates such as: Minuto Mariano and Pasos Marianos through the Dallas Marian Center.

Cathie Zentner - North American Territory.

She joined Regnum Christi in 1996. Married, with two grown daughters, she lives in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. After a brief professional career as a management consultant, she has served Regnum Christi in various pastoral roles for the past 26 years, including Regnum Christi team leader, director of Himalaya College in Monterrey, Mexico; territorial secretary of the Federation and most recently as a delegate to the Territorial Board of Directors for the North American Territory, until May 31, 2024.

Guillermo Narro - Territory of Mexico and Central America.

He joined Regnum Christi in 2006. He has been a team leader since 2013 and was a collaborator of Regnum Christi in Santiago de Chile in 2015, where he met his wife. He worked in the formation of young gentlemen and young professionals, in business and family apostolates.

Cristina Regueira - Colombia-Venezuela Territory.

She was a member of ECYD, collaborator ECYD and Regnum Christi for two years. She became a member of Regnum Christi in 2006. She is a local assistant and in charge of apostolates of the youth section in Caracas, Venezuela. In turn, she works in the Life and Mission team of the General Directorate in youth ministry and international apostolates. At the territorial level, she supports with the follow-up of the apostolates in the territory of Colombia-Venezuela and the formation of formators.
