The “Pan Amigo” campaign, created by members of Regnum Christi Guayaquil (Ecuador), seeks to help families in a vulnerable area of the city with food. Weeks ago, thanks to the help and solidarity of many people, the first delivery of food to 66 families was made. But the help is not only material, but it is part of a process of evangelization that has been carried out for a year, and in which - now in the pandemic - every fifteen days the families receive the call of a missionary and a video with the Sunday catechesis made by young people and families of Regnumi Christi.

Although the contingency has forced them to completely change their calendar and daily activities -like almost all the apostolates- it has also become a real engine to find new ways to continue helping those who need it most. During the month of June, they carried out a macro virtual event to collect food and cleaning supplies to deliver basic products to the homes and places where they are normally present, but thanks to the solidarity of the people and the fact that they were able to collect more than a ton of products, they were also able to reach many other people.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the young people of the DARTE Manizales apostolate have not stopped going out to meet the most vulnerable. Through the “Love saves us” campaign, they have continuously provided food, clothing and board games to 200 street dwellers. They have also delivered food to 450 families and three homes for the elderly in the city. But as not only material help is important, they have launched an initiative to collect between 150 and 200 letters with a message of love and hope, accompanied by some religious object to be delivered to the street dwellers at this time of quarantine as a way to offer them love and company.
