The adult section of the Regnum Christi of Barcelona You organized the first SPONSUS seminar in Spain two weeks ago in collaboration with the Italian priest who devised it, Father Renzo Bonetti. Leticia Rico and Javier Pujol are a married couple who participated in this seminar: “We understood the wonderful vocation we have and the immense value of the Sacrament that transformed our lives on our wedding day,” they explain. SPONSUS is part of the Regnum Christi Family Pastoral itinerary, and the next seminar is scheduled to be held in Barcelona from May 15-17. It will subsequently be organized in Madrid and Valencia as well.
“Last weekend, we had a marital experience that literally changed our lives. We attended a seminar that was held for the first time in Barcelona. The methodology comes from Italy, where Fr. Renzo Bonetti has dedicated over 10 years to helping married couples.
For us, it has been a huge gift. It is a retreat based on the Word of Christ, the Catechism, and the Doctrine of the Church, with a very didactic approach and accompanied by different, very practical dynamics to understand the true richness of marriage.
We consider ourselves a Christian couple, and thanks to God, we both share the same faith and even our vocation to the Regnum Christi. However, we were each going our separate ways, meaning we lived our relationship with God individually, each in our own way. The retreat helped us understand the marvelous vocation we have and the immense value of the Sacrament that transformed our lives on our wedding day.
It has helped us to renew our hope, to see our life together with new eyes, to know that our marriage is sacred and that God is the one who elevates it to a different dimension from which the day-to-day is completely different.
The principles learned are to be deepened over a long time, but a horizon has opened in our minds and hearts that makes us very happy.
We thank everyone who has made this weekend possible, and we are convinced that it will do a lot of good for those who openly decide to participate in the experience.
