The Lay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi received the approval of their constitutions from the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CIVCSVA). The Holy See approved the constitutions presented to it by the last General Assembly of the Consecrated Laity of Regnum Christi, held at the beginning of 2020. Cardinal João Braz Aviz, prefect of the CIVCSVA, communicated the news to the director general of the Consecrated Laity, Félix Gómez Rueda.
In December 2013, the first statutes of the private association of the Consecrated Laity of Regnum Christi received pontifical approval. Subsequently, on November 25, 2018, the Holy See approved the Constitutions of the Society of Apostolic Life Consecrated Laity of Regnum Christi, on the occasion of its canonical approval as a Society of Apostolic Life.
The Holy See has now approved a new version of its Constitutions. ad experimentum until the celebration of the General Assembly of 2026. This new version was given because the General Assembly wanted to develop in greater depth the spirituality that emanates from the specific charism of the Consecrated Laity of Regnum Christi, to better outline some points of the mission and form of life, as well as to make some canonical adjustments more consistent with the canonical reality of the Society of Apostolic Life. The CIVCSVA itself has been kind enough to point out some further improvements, so the Constitutions Commission has worked with the General Council to integrate them.
