Given the uncertainty of the situation in the world and in our country caused by the COVID-19 virus, there is one thing we are sure of: the priority for the School Network is the health and well-being of the entire educational community, as well as the integral formation and learning of each one of the students. Reality forces us to be patient and prudent, so the beginning of this school year will be at a distance. By decision of the health authorities for the welfare of all, the on-site classes will be held gradually when the traffic lights of the states are green. Despite the desire to return to classes at the beginning of the school year, it is neither possible nor prudent.
Distance learning, in the case of schools, does not only mean the delivery of knowledge and information from the teacher to the student. The teaching staff is ready to offer a quality education through a solid distance program that includes live classes, the opportunity for cooperative learning in small groups and various feedback situations between the teacher, the student and their parents, as an essential element of bonding between both actors to achieve meaningful learning. The teachers, including those of the sports, technology and Catholic formation offerings, are ready and prepared to begin this school year in a scenario that today favors the health and well-being of all.
Prepared for this distance start, the academic, teaching and administrative staff of the Semper Altius School Network has been in constant training during this summer, with training focused on three important aspects:
- SecurityIn the event of returning to the classroom mode, the application of safety and hygiene measures to be followed by all persons entering the campus, as well as the protocols to be applied inside and outside the classroom.
- Welfare: Emotional and spiritual care and attention for students, families and staff, as well as psychological support measures.
- Teaching - Learning: The ability to design classes in any learning scenario promoting meaningful learning for students. The planning of activities focused on collaboration, construction and consolidation of knowledge. The development of strategies and instruments to consider evaluation as learning. The skills to manage learning synchronously (online classes) and asynchronously (pre-recorded classes), among others.
Committed to providing a comprehensive education of excellence to students at all levels and to ensure that they continue with their education, for preschool, where students are younger and require greater adaptation due to their age, the following has been created Semper Altius Online Preschool, The Semper Altius School Network, a flexible, intuitive and personalized platform that fulfills the academic program of the Semper Altius School Network from the safety of home, contemplating all areas of children's development: emotional, sensory, social, cognitive, psychomotor, values and virtues.
Distance training in all sections and platform Semper Altius Online Preschool, The schooling system, which is a school-based system, follows the established academic program and has the same validity before the SEP (Ministry of Public Education). Since the educational efforts outside the school system, such as the Home School or home schooling programs are not authorized by the SEP in our country.
