On July 11 and 12, the Mano Amiga Chalco school held a triduum of association to Regnum Christi with the participation of male high school students, which for the first time was done digitally through Zoom.
Nilo Vechi, L.C., the school principal and the teachers responsible for the ECYD who, in communication with the coordinator of the Catholic formation area, made this activity a great experience for the young people.
During the two-day retreat, the young people were able to have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and recognize that he calls them to be his apostles, to serve him and announce the motto: “Thy Kingdom Come”. They also commented on the adverse situations that, as young people, they have faced throughout their lives, trusting in the great mercy of God, who forgives them and loves them personally, freely and unconditionally.
The young people were surprised at the end with their response, because of the 18 who participated, all of them agreed to say yes to the call that Jesus was making to them, four of them joining the fourth stage of the ECYD and the other 14 as members of the Regnum Christi Movement.
At the end of the activities, the young people shared their experience and the challenges they had to face during an online retreat and how God's grace was helping them all the time to live their mystery to the fullest.
Jassiel Vieyra Vázquez, a 2nd year high school student commented that it was something surprising: “when I finished the retreat I thought, I am going back to my normal life, but then I realized that I was not going to have my old life, because now I see God guiding me in every step I take, because He has forgiven me and has allowed me to be with Him, who calls me to a new life”.
Diego Ocampo, also a 2nd year high school student, said: “The retreat was a moment to meet with God, since at this time of confinement I have not had that friendship with Christ. I had distanced myself a little, but thanks to this retreat I was able to feel Jesus in my life and in my heart again.”.
