Your help arrives, your help saves: A third truck on its way to Ukraine

This Tuesday, March 24, marks one month since the invasion of Ukraine. The Altius Foundation, the social work of Regnum Christi in Spain, continues to work at a strong pace on the campaign Dopomoyích to help those affected by this war. Two trailers have already left in the last 15 days and a third truck is scheduled for Friday, March 25, carrying emergency humanitarian aid for an orphanage in Lviv, in the interior of the country.

In this operation, the assistance of the counterpart in the field is essential, the NGO specialized in emergencies Cadena, which has a collection and distribution center for humanitarian aid in the Polish city of Przemyśl, a few kilometers from the border, and two centers for the care of refugees on the same border, as well as connections in the interior of Ukraine. Thanks to this collaborative partner, we can say that indeed the aid that is channeled through this Altius campaign arrives, and arrives directly into the hands of the beneficiaries.

Appreciation for generosity

Every week, the NGO Cadena reports from the field on urgent needs. The aim is to send a weekly trailer to respond to these needs, making an appeal for collaboration. «From the Altius Foundation we would like to thank all the volunteers, collaborators and people who are helping in this campaign. «We continue to appeal to the generosity to which we are accustomed. We know that sadly, the conflict will be long and that the situation in our own country does not allow us to give much. We thank you in advance for the efforts you are all making».

In-kind and financial assistance: two trucks with 58 pallets in total, and 31,010 euros.

So far, medicines, food, warm clothes and other aid have been shipped in two trucks, each with a capacity for 24 tons, which have been loaded with a total of 58 pallets. And at the moment material is being collected to help an orphanage in Lviv, which is becoming one of the places of refuge for children fleeing from other parts of Ukraine, as Lviv is considered a safe zone in the war for the time being.

As for financial aid, as of March 23, 31,010 euros have been received through financial donations from many people and collaborators, which have been used for transportation, packaging and local transfers, making it possible for the aid in kind to reach its recipients.
