In a recent conversation with the communications office of Northern Mexico, and during her canonical visit to the territory, the Director General of Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, Nancy Nohrden, shared details about the beginning of the governance of the General Board of Trustees during the pandemic, as well as the challenges and opportunities facing the consecrated women.
Born on February 4, 1974 in Bellevue, USA, Nancy is the third of six children, the only female among five male siblings. She was elected Director General of Consecrated Women in 2020 and shares here about her feelings on receiving this responsibility.
In my thoughts and in my heart, one never feels capable of such a service. It comes as a call from the Lord to serve, manifesting itself through the sisters themselves by what they see and ask for.
On the beginning of the current Regnum Christi governance in the midst of the pandemic, she described the challenges of establishing effective communication in a virtual environment, taking the first steps between the uncertainty of the world, the needs of each consecrated vocation and the expectations of all Regnum Christi members. Nancy expressed the hope generated by an awakening and renewal that she has observed in Regnum Christi communities after overcoming the adversities of the health crisis.

As the only woman in her family and also in the General Management College, she shared how she lives her assignment naturally thanks to the experience of growing up among five siblings. “Relationships are sibling relationships; I really feel that way.”, He commented, highlighting the ease of clear communication that exists among the members of the Regnum Christi General Government at this time.
The canonical visit to northern Mexico focused on the life and mission of the consecrated women, highlighting their dedication to prayer and their commitment to apostolic mission. Nancy expressed her admiration for the work of Regnum Christi, stressing the importance of focusing on the good that God is doing through the mission and the challenge of reconciling the desire to reach out to all places with the limitations of the “vocational winter” that the universal Church is experiencing.
We want to give a narrative of hope.
Regarding plans to identify apostolic assignments and priorities for consecrated women, Nancy emphasized the desire of the Society of Apostolic Life to favor those places where Christ desires to be more present and to form his apostles for the world, opening the mind to identify new initiatives and horizons.
Nancy's visit offered a vision to strengthen the apostolic work in favor of the common mission and to continue to value the presence of the consecrated women of Regnum Christi in the northern territory of Mexico.
